Transplanting Aeroponic Cuttings In Coco, Soil & Hydro
You watched us root aeroponic cuttings in Race To Root Cuttings. Now it's time to transplant them.
Here we show you how to transplant into pots (media) and rockwool blocks (hydro).
What We Used
We used cuttings from a Calea zacatechichi, aka ‘Dream Herb’. This is an interesting plant with lots of medicinal properties. Cuttings were fed with nothing but water!
By day 7, all cuttings had established roots.
New growth was quite yellow - a clear sign plants were itching for a good feed.
We decided to transplant, while the roots were still a managable size.
To Transplant in Coco or Soil
If you're transplanting into growing media, you want to transplant into pots.

Lower cuttings into these holes

Water through with a VitaLink Plant Start solution (CF 12, pH 5.8) until you get run-off.
To Transplant in Hydro
If transplanting into a hydro system, you need to use rockwool blocks.
Step 2
Flush with VitaLink Plant Start (CF12, pH 5.8). Pour through the top to purge out the soaking solution.
Shake dry - don't squeeze as this'll compress rockwool fibres.
Step 3
For Cellmax, soak in pH 5.5 water then flush with VitaLink Plant Start (like in step 1 & 2). Perlite's easier to use dry.
Step 4
Lower your cutting into your rockwool block - take care not to squash roots.
Then pack them in with your Cellmax cubes or perlite.
Next Up
Once transplanted, place your cutting in a propagator - we used a bog standard Hi-Top Propagator.
Leave your vents open and lid on.
This'll encourage the humidity to get high, but still allow some transpiration to occur.
Leave cuttings in the propagator for another week or so before the hardening off process begins.
