Why You Need Good Air Circulation

Your extraction system replaces warm, humid air with fresh air, but it can't guarantee that air is moving evenly around every part of the grow space.

That's where circulation fans come in.

Without enough internal air movement, warm and humid pockets can develop around dense foliage, underneath the canopy and towards the edges of the tent.

The Vortex oscillates rather than continuously blowing at one fixed point, helping move air across a wider section of the canopy and create a more even environment around your plants.

Gentle air movement also encourages natural movement in stems and foliage without the need to blast plants with excessive airflow.

Better Control with a 10-Speed EC Motor

A basic clip fan normally gives you very limited control over airflow. The Vortex gives you 10 separate speed settings, making it easier to match circulation to the size and stage of your plants.

Start low around seedlings and young plants, then increase the speed as the canopy fills out and more air movement is required between leaves.

The EC motor also allows the fan to run smoothly at lower settings, which is particularly useful when you want constant circulation without running the fan at full power.

45° or 90° Oscillation

Choose the oscillation range that best suits your grow space.

• 45° oscillation; concentrates airflow over a smaller area of the canopy;
• 90° oscillation; provides a wider sweep for broader grow tent coverage.

The head can also be repositioned to change the direction of airflow, making it easy to circulate air across the canopy or target stagnant areas lower down in the tent.

Secure Grow Tent Pole Mounting

The Vortex mounts directly onto your grow tent frame using an adjustable clamp designed for 15–30mm diameter poles.

Rubber inserts provide extra grip against the pole and help keep the fan stable while it oscillates.

Mounting the fan directly onto the frame keeps the floor clear and also makes it easy to raise or reposition the fan as your plants grow.

Simple On-Fan Control

The fan uses two integrated controls to keep operation straightforward.

The rear control operates the fan and allows you to move through the 10 speed settings, while the front control operates the oscillation function and lets you select between the 45° and 90° sweep.

A USB remote input is also included for use with compatible external control equipment.

How to Set Up the Vortex 8" Oscillating EC Fan

1. Choose a suitable grow tent pole between 15mm and 30mm in diameter.
2. Secure the adjustable clamp around the pole and make sure the rubber inserts are positioned correctly.
3. Leave enough clearance around the fan head for it to oscillate freely.
4. Angle the fan across the canopy rather than pointing it directly at one plant from close range.
5. Start at a lower speed and increase gradually until you have gentle, consistent movement across the growing area.
6. Select 45° oscillation for more focused circulation or 90° for wider coverage.
7. Reposition the fan as the canopy develops to keep air moving above and underneath the plants.

Remember: a circulation fan moves air around the grow space but does not replace an appropriately sized extraction system.

Top Tip

More airflow isn't automatically better. Start low and aim for gentle, consistent movement across the leaves rather than having plants constantly pushed hard in one direction. As the canopy becomes larger and denser, increase the speed or switch to the wider 90° oscillation to move air through more of the growing space.
