The AutoPot Tray2Grow Capillary Matting is an essential component for growers running seed trays, micro herb trays, or bottom-perforated pots within the Tray2Grow system.
Designed to wick water and nutrient solution evenly from below, the matting creates a stable moisture layer that supports uniform root development without waterlogging or oversaturation.
When paired with a Tray2Grow tray and root control sheet, this matting allows multiple trays or containers to be fed at once, making it ideal for propagation, microgreens, and high-density early-stage growing.
The capillary mat is laid flat inside the Tray2Grow tray and tucked neatly into the side channels. A root control sheet is then placed on top to prevent roots growing into the mat.
Seed trays, micro herb trays, or bottom-perforated pots sit above this layer.
As the AQUAvalve feeds water into the tray, the mat draws moisture upward evenly. This moisture then passes through drainage holes into the growing medium, providing gentle, consistent hydration with no pumps, timers, or electricity.
Compatibility: Designed for use with the AutoPot Tray2Grow system. Tray, lid, seed trays, and root control sheets are sold separately.
Growell Tip: Always use a root control sheet above the capillary mat. This prevents roots binding into the fabric, keeps water flow consistent, and significantly extends the mat’s usable life.
