Match the fan size to your tent volume and whatever's fighting it for airflow, carbon filters and hot LEDs both push up the extraction you need. The 4" and 6" sizes suit most tents up to 1.2m, while 8" and above is built for bigger tents or rooms running serious heat.
One thing to plan for: ducting and a carbon filter aren't included with the fan on its own, so budget for both and keep every size matched. A 6" fan paired with 4" ducting creates a bottleneck that chokes airflow and can undo most of the extraction you paid for.
