Loved by a legion of growers, Ecothrive Eco-Life Soil returns at last and it's better than ever! With a new peat-coco blend, high-grade vermicompost base and substitution of perlite for pumice, this fully organic and 100% living soil has been thoughtfully updated for improved performance and usability. What's more, the product now comes packaged in a cardboard box containing a thin LDPE liner to minimise plastic waste and provides 45L - an extra 5L compared to the previous version!
Handcrafted indoors at a UK facility, the soil is only produced in small batches every week to guarantee the highest level of reliability, consistency and overall quality.
Choose Eco-Life and grow from seed/cutting to harvest without having to add any nutrients - although you can introduce extra boosters if you want!
It’s pre-loaded with raw, organic multi-nutritional ingredients and is alive with microbes.
The microbes unlock the nutrients for plants.
No extra nutrients are needed. You don’t need to feed or flush. You’ll get no deficiencies, no lockouts & no burn. Just keep your media moist with a good quality water.
100% organic living soil
Now 45 Litres (5L increase!)
Perfect for ‘no till’ growing
No need to feed or flush - just keep your media moist
Ideal airy structure (added Irish peat + pumice)
UK made with eco-friendly production
Replicates a humus-rich fertile soil (rich in humic & fulvic acids)
Media is reusable (must add Ecothrive Life-Cycle Soil Amendment)
Your media stays moist. But a high air content is perfect for microbial activity & root growth. Water little and often for optimum microbial activity.
Bursting With Biology
The millions of microbes unlock the nutrition from the raw materials in Eco-Life.
Eco-Friendly Production Process
It’s blended and bagged in the UK at the Ecothrive Head Quarters. All inputs are from sustainable sources that have been investigated to origin and approved.
New cardboard packaging
Media is now delivered in heavy-duty cardboard boxes with a thin LDPE plastic inner liner and easy-peel label.
Always Fresh Soil
Eco-Life Supercharged Soil is now made indoors, to ensure complete control over the production environment. Soil is made weekly in small batches, so you know it's always fresh and ready to use!
How It Works
Plants have evolved to work with microbes in the soil.
Plants feed microbes. Microbes unlock nutrients & water for plants. It’s a symbiotic relationship. Microbes have a myriad of other functions, too. They help prevent pathogens, enhance uptake and generally keep the rootzone healthy.
Eco-Life is alive with these microbes! And it’s pre-loaded with the nutrients plants need from seed to harvest.
A mix of long, medium & short release ingredients are used, which maximise plant growth, health & immunity.
There’s no need to add extra nutrients. Since you’re not feeding, there’s nothing to flush. Plants stop feeding and growth slows naturally at harvest. Just keep your media moist with a good quality water. This is the real, original way to grow organically.
It contains more than 60 trace elements that plants need. It’s a great source of plant growth hormones; indoles for root development; gibberellins for nutrient mobility.
Gypsum
It adds calcium & sulphur for aroma & flavour. It also improves water penetration & reduces water logging.
Vermicompost (Worm Castings)
The key part of the soil mix. It adds bacteria and fungi that break down other ingredients, making them available to the plants. Vermicompost also adds extra N, P & K. Worm castings come from an indoor farm and are fed organic fruit and vegetable pulp and peelings.
Basalt
Basalt (Volcanic Rock Dust) has a high silica content. It fortifies cell walls to thicken leaves, stems, branches. Plants are hardened to pests & climate extremes. They can also support bigger yields.
Crustacean Meal
It's 100% Krill and adds N, P, K, calcium, magnesium and sulphur to bring out flavour. It's full of Essential Fatty Acids (Omega/EFA’s) that feed microbes. Most importantly, Krill meal is the most sustainable crustacean - the harvesting of Krill from the ocean gets virtually zero bycatch and is only taken from regenerative fishing zones.
Mealworm Frass (Ecothrive Charge)
It boosts N, P & K and is brimming with beneficial microbes & mealworm castings. It also contains chitin to improves your plant’s immune response and defences.
Neem Cake
It’s a nutrient accumulator with deep-reaching roots. It pulls nutrition from areas in the soil plant roots don’t reach. Neem is rich in N, P, K, Calcium & Magnesium and helps prevent pests & pathogens.
Humic & Fulvic Acids
These come from a natural mined deposit of ancient vegetation and mimic the humus (the final product of decomposition). The deposit is rich in humic & fulvic acids. These help chelate nutrients and stimulate microbial activity. Overall, root & plant growth is improved.
How To Use
Per 1.2m2 area, we recommend 180 – 250L of Eco-Life in 4 x 45L pots.
Other pot sizes will work, as long as you use the right amount of media.
e.g. 2 x 90L pots or 6 x 30L pots or 1 x 200L bed would work.
Starting Off
You can start most plants off with Eco-Life. But if you’re growing sensitive plants, you can mix in some extra coco to begin with.
Watering
Build up your water level slowly. DO NOT WATER TO REACH RUN-OFF.
For your first water, add 5 – 10% of total pot volume. Check your pots and water every few days.
You want to keep the soil evenly moist, and not too wet. No final flush is needed.
Use good quality water.
Other Nutrients & Additives
If you choose, you can use other additives. Just don’t overdo it and
Stick to organic additives
Avoid PK boosters
Stop using 4 – 5 weeks before harvest
We Recommend
For an extra boost, apply Ecothrive Life-Cycle as a top dressing every 2 – 3 weeks.
