- To regulate watering times, you will need to buy a timer. Get a Grasslin Mechanical, Budget Digital or GSE Water Irrigation timer, depending on your growing media.

How it works
Your plants sit over a tank that contains your nutrient solution. The nutrient solution is pumped up and drip-irrigated to the plants growing in pots on the top tray. Run-off leaving the pot then trickles back into the tank, ready for recirculation. They’re simple to set up and use – you can’t get it wrong.

Which type of pump is included( liters/hour) with the Wilma 4 pots and the 8 pots?
The Wilma 4 Pot System is supplied with the Maxi-Jet MJ500, which will pump 500 litres per hour, the Wilma 8 Pot System is supplied with the Maxi-Jet MJ1000, which will do 1000 litres per hour.

does these systems use a filter and does it come with
These is a sponge filter that is supplied with the Wilma, it attaches to the inlet of the pump. I would advise you also use ATA Clean with a Wilma system to help keep the drip lines clear of salt buildup.

I have a small ebb and flood system and now interested in expanding my systems. This is mostly for vegetables grown in a 8 x 10 greenhouse. Vegatables would include tomatoes, courgettes, cucumber and beans. Could these be grown together in a Wilma 8-10 pot system ? What medium is best for this type of plant. I have been using Aqua feed on the Ebb and Flow system and would prefer to keep to this. Does the Wilma system come with good growing instructions?
there shouldn’t be a problem growing these crops in a Wilma system. If you wish to continue using the Aqua nutrients, I would advise using either Cellmax cubes, or clay pebbles as your growing media. The Wilma systems are provided with full instructions.

What timer would you recommend for regulating feeding times?
I would use the Grasslin Mechanical timer to automate feeding with the Wilma systems.

I have purchased a 8 pot Wilma System. I am growing in Soil, using full Canna Terra nutrient range (and some extra bat guano mixed with the soil), I have noticed that my nutrient solution, 2 days after cleaning / changing, looks minging and full of floatie bits... how long do you recommend between changing and cleaning the tank? Also, if the water is stale after a couple of weeks, what can i do to keep it fresher, or does that not make a difference to the plants? Thanks
We normally recommend changing the entire tank every couple of weeks and cleaning the tank out. You can top up the tank every week adding fresh (dechlorinated) nutrient solution to top it up. Sometimes the tank does get a bit manky, especially when using recirculating soil or coco systems as a bit of debris can get washed down into it. An air stone can help slightly by moving the nutrient around, it seems to be worse when it is not moving. If you are worried that nasty bits may be developing in your tank you can always add something like pyth off in your tank as a preventative measure If it continues to concern you, there is nothing to stop you changing the entire tank, and cleaning it every week, but it is not unusual in these systems to have some discolouration and film developing in the tank.

when using a mechanical timer how long would you have the intervals of watering on for and how often? thanks
Once the plants are in the Wilma system, we would advise initially dripping for 15 minutes every 4 hours, & increasing the frequency of the feed as the plants get bigger.

Just purchased 2 big pot 4 from you. My media is soil ,what nutrients would you recommend to use? Been using sugar peak range with good results or should I switch to hydro nutrients?
The Sugar peak range would work well with the Wilma system, as would any mineral based soil feed such as Canna Terra Vega & Flores. I would also advise using ATA clean, which will help keep your drip lines free of blockages, & thoroughly cleaning the pump & drip lines between every crop.

whats the least amount of water can you run the 10 plant Wilma on?
We wouldn't recommend that you run the 10 plant Wilma less than half full, you would also need to change the nutrient solution much more frequently than if you were running a full reservoir.

IM THINKING ABOUT GETTING EITHER THE 10 OR 20 PLANT WILMA WHATS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF WATER CAN YOU RUN THEM ON SAY ON THE 10 PLANT ONE 20 LTRS LEAST AND 20 PLANT ONE 35 LTRS OF WATER AND WHICH ONE SHOULD I CHOOSE EITHER 2 10 PLANT SYSTEM OR 1 20 PLANT SYSTEM WHICH ARE THE BEST CAN YOU HELP PLEASE CHRIS
The 10 plant Wilma system has an 80 litre reservoir, the 20 plant has a 140 litre reservoir, we wouldn't recommend running either of these systems with much less than full capacity in the reservoirs. As both the systems use 6.5 litre square hydro pots, the results would be similar, but the 20 plant will fit into a smaller space than 2 10 plant systems, & you only have one reservoir to maintain.
