Before using this I used to use small rockwool for both cloning and germinating seed. I tried these to see if they lived up to the hype, and boy they do. They are all I use now.

Their consistency out of the packet is semi-moist sponge like. There is a small perforation on the surface - enough to take a clone of about 2-3mm in diameter or a similar sized seed.

Squeezing one in hand will reduce it's size dramatically - testament to the amount aeration and drainage they have - quite difficult to mess things up.

A handy tip for germinating seeds is to tear some of the material from the base of a cube to cover the seed.

The image on the front of the packaging is NOT exageratted, roots will appear from the base and all four sides - so careful when handling and removing from the original host tray.

As mentioned they are moist out of the packet and it's crucial that this is maintained during rooting/germination - should be no problem in a propagator or frequent spraying.

I've transplanted both seeds and clones to both soil and larger rockwool cubes with no problem whatsoever.

If you don't use the whole pack in one go, wrap the remainder in clingfilm to keep moist - however there is no problem if they do dry out. Just let them sit in some room temperature water with the occasional squeeze and they should be good as new in several hours. Basically giving them a long shelf life.

Do I need to add Nutrients like Cana start or Formulex to the Fleximix Root Riot starter cubes when doing cuttings? Or is there already nutrients in the media, and if so how soon before I need to replenish it with more feed?
There is no nutrient content in these starter cubes, we would advise using Vita Link Plant Start, or Canna Start, & also Rhizotonic for best results.

I pruned my eucalyptus gunii last year and now want to make a couple of hundred cuttings from the new growth. Is this the best product to use?
The Fleximix Root Riot cubes will work well for putting your cuttings in, I'd also use Clonex, Clonex Mist, Rhizotonic, & Vita Link Plant Start.
