Want to ripen to the Max? You've got to try Winter Frost from New Millenium Nutrients. It initiates ripening after plants have already reached their peak.

How does it work? When do you use it? Does it really push plants to their full potential? Jerin from New Millenium Nutrients has joined us to explain it all.

Q

So what is Winter Frost?

A

Winter Frost is a specific formulation of elements that accentuates the ripening process in annual flowering and fruiting flora.

The technology creates a natural senescence effect on the plant system.

Basically, once the bloom or fruiting body has reached peak bio-mass, Winter Frost encourages energies from the plant to condense towards the fruit on the branches and promote fluent ripening throughout.

This results in consistent fruit and flower maturation and proliferation of essential oils and terpenes at harvest.

Q

Nice summary! Tell us more about how it acts on the plant..

A

Physically, it corrupts, or crashes the plant system.

This actually happens in nature with annual flora species - these plants anticipate it as they near the end of their blooming cycle.

Winter Frost dramatically encourages this action.

Q

And can you explain the purple colour shift? We've been getting a lot of questions about that!

A

Certainly! It's a winter effect. Once dosed with Winter Frost, plants focus energy on defending against frost and bulking up fruit pods, ready for next year's sowing. This can be seen with the red, burgundy and purple colour changes. Any of this colouration is a sign that Winter Frost is working!

Q

Interesting. It must've took some time to perfect your formula!

A

It did! Winter Frost is based on several decades of research and development with specific annual species of plants.

All of the work paid off - New Millenium Laboratories was able to develop a proprietary formulation of elements that imposes a specific response in plants.

The technology is proprietary and stems from the Mediterranean climate, which is used as a model of the perfect growing environment. There are no harmful PGR's or hormones used in any of our formulas.

Q

Well, it's a big hit in the US. So how would you recommend using it?

A

Dilute 2-3ml per Litre of water and use as a standalone pre-flush.

Remember, it's intended for the week BEFORE final flush (pure water) week.

For instance, in an 8-week flower cycle, you'd start at the beginning of week 7 or 8 depending on flushing week preference.

The amount of time you use it for depends on what your growing method is.

2-3mls Per Litre 2-3mls Per Litre

In soil and coco, generally you'd want to use a week's worth over 5 - 7 days. Try to get in at least 3 waterings during this time. Some growers water every day - others water every 3 days. If watering every day, I typically tell people to use it for 5 days, then have a nice 10 day flush!

In hydroponic systems, Winter Frost works fast! Rockwool, clay pebbles, perlite and sand hold very little plant nutrient. Rockwool has been known to show effects in as little as 24-72 hours! So go easy and use it for a couple of days at most to begin with. You can always be more aggressive in the future. Just be aware that if you use Winter Frost for a Full Week in these substrates, there can be deleterious effects on plants.

Q

Does Winter Frost conflict with any other products?

A

No, it doesn't conflict with any other products because it is used by itself with no base nutrients.

Q

Can it be used alongside any range?

A

Yes, it is compatible with ALL other base ranges  because it's used as a standalone formulation without the use of base or NPK nutrients.

Compatible Compatible

Q

That makes sense. And is it suitable for all growing media?

A

Yes, it's been formulated and stabilized for use in ALL substrates and growing methods. It can be used in soil,  coco, hydro and everything in between. Do NOT use it in Aquaponics, though!

All Media All Media

Q

Good advice. Got any expert tips on how to get the best from the product?

A

Yes, follow the directions and pair with either Ruby or Carb O Naria if available.

Q

And does it need to be mixed in any specific way?

A

No, it's very user friendly. Simply dilute into water and tweak the pH to desired level (5.8 - 6.5) before application.
