T5 lighting is the latest development in fluorescent technology that is revolutionising both the commercial strip lighting and now horticultural lighting world. As well as being cheaper to buy, cheaper to replace and cheaper to run than traditional fluorescent tubes, the T5 High Output (T5HO) versions of these lamps are ideal for propagating young plants. With a 24 Watt Output per lamp, these tubes are a lot higher output than the old Visi-Lux tubes and perform much better when it comes to rooting cuttings.

Overview: Each complete T5HO unit is supplied with a ballast, T5HO Sunblaster tube, 2 metre power cable and 30cm 'Daisy Chain' Connector. This connector allows you to connect up to 8 T5HO ballasts in series - meaning that you only need the one mains plug and that there aren't loads of cables trailing around your propagation area. Also, unlike many other inferior alternatives, the connection provided is very robust to ensure you get the maximum use of all your lights all the time. The T5HO Sunblaster Propagation Light is 60cm in length.

Hiya, any idea how many T5HO's I should use with the X-stream heated propagator? Will be growing ~200 peppers from seed in there. Also, how close to the lid of the X-stream should I place the lights? Cheers.

I would recommend using 3 of the T5HOs above the X-Stream propagator, you should have the lights approximately 40cm from the lid of the propagator.

whats the wattage and lumen output of each individual bulb?

The T5HO single tubes are rated at 24 Watts, a single tube will give out 2160 lumens.

could you root a medium size propogator with 20 cuttings under 1 of these bulbs ?

The T5HO Sunblaster will provide enough light for a large propagator. The tube should be approximately 8 inches from the top of the propagator to root your cuttings.
