can you add a air pump to the resouvoir on this system to aerate roots and is it possible to do so on nft's and does it improve air supply to roots

Which grow tent would you recommend for this setup to work effectively. Thanks.

The best tent for this kit would be the Medium Budbox, as it has the headroom to grow plants to maturity.

if i bought this kit would i have tp buy anything else to make it smell proof?

You would need to also buy an extraction/filtration kit. Our smallest extraction/filtration kit would comfortably work with this setup.

how much water do you use when first filling your reservoir and then on how often do you top up?

This system comes with a 20 litre reservoir, we would recommend using 20 litres of quarter strength nutrient solution to start with, & top up with quarter strength as necassary. With a reservoir of this size, we would recommend changing the solution weekly.

if i were to purchase the hobby kit - NFT 250, would there be anything else i needed except the seeds to start my grow?

The NFT 250 hobby kit provides everything you need to get growing. You may wish to experiment with flowering boosters such as Vita Link buddy, or Canna PK 13/14 in the flowering cycle, but you will get a result with the standard kit.

How do I know if I should buy the soft or hard water version of this kit?

The easiest way to tell is by having a look inside your kettle. If there is a lot of limescale buildup, you need the hard water version.
