The Science
The temperature of your feed is key to plant growth and root health.
Too low and you could shock plants your plants and slow growth
Too high and your oxygen level will start to drop.
To make matters worse, algae thrives in warm nutrient solutions – if algae grows, your oxygen level will drop even further.
When your oxygen level drops, nutrient uptake slows. If your oxygen level drops too low, Pythium and other root diseases can take hold.
The best nutrient temperature is 18oC - 21oC. At this temperature, your oxygen level remains high. Algae and root diseases are less of a threat, and nutrient absorption stays high.
