GAVITA NOW ON DISPLAY IN ALL STORES
GAVITA Pro 600W: 1120 μmol s-1
Time to replace?
Your GAVITA lamp loses 5% of light after a year – that’s a 5% loss in yield.
To keep your yield constantly high, replace your lamp every year.
This lamp is the one you need for a 600W 400V GAVITA Pro Complete Lighting System.
About the Lamps
Drive plant growth & boost your yields – invest in a ground-breaking GAVITA Pro 600W 400V EL E40 Lamp.
They retain 95% of their light over a year and have a life expectancy of 5,000 hours – that’s more than 4 complete grow cycles. Economical.
You’ll get a pioneering PAR output of 1120 micromoles – for a 600W light that’s amazing!
As for the quality of light, you’ll get a wider light spectrum and accurate colour rendering - the 400V frequency sees to that.
To maximise light output further – lamps are made from an incredibly clear quartz glass.
• 600W high frequency horticultural lamp
• Up to 8% more grow light & up to 10% higher yields
• Life expectancy of 5,000 hrs
• Amazing light maintenance of 95% after a year
• Incredible PAR output: 1120 μmol
• Lumens: 85.000
• Quartz glass outer bulb for perfect photosensitive quality
• Use with high frequency, 400V electronic ballasts (GAVITA Pro series)
• 3 year warranty on GAVITA products
Don’t try powering them from an ordinary 230V ballast – use them with a GAVITA lighting system or another compatible 400V system!
How do you Measure Light Output?
People used to just count lumens. Don’t do that.
You’ll learn more by counting micromoles (μmol).
1 lumen = 1 candle
1 micromole = µmol is 602 quadrillion particles of plant usable light!
While lumens tell you how bright a bulb is, they don’t tell you how much plant usable light is emitted.
Plants can only use certain wavelengths of light for growth (400nm – 700nm). These wavelengths are known as the PAR range.
Micromoles tell you how many particles of light from the PAR range are emitted by your lamp per second.
- The Science
How Often Should You Replace Lamps?
When it’s costing you more not to.
Every 1% loss in light results in a 1% loss in yield. Your GAVITA lamp loses 5% of light after a year – that’s a 5% loss in yield.
To maximise your yield, replace your GAVITA lamps every year.
What Wavelengths can be used by Plants?
For growth, plants can only use wavelengths of light between 400nm – 700nm. These wavelengths are known as the PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) range.
To get an accurate measure of how good a grow light is, you need to find out what your light’s PPF (photosynthetic photon flux).
Your PPF reading will tell you how many how many particles of light (photons) from the PAR range are emitted by your lamp per second, measured in micromoles.
What are micromoles (µmol)?
Micromoles tell you how many particles of light (photons) from the PAR range are emitted by your lamp per second. Your micromole count is known as your photosynthetic photon flux (PPF).
1 micromole = µmol is 602 quadrillion particles of light (photons)!
What about wavelengths outside the PAR range?
Wavelengths outside the PAR range can’t be used for growth, but they have other benefits.
UV-A & UV-B, for instance, are known to:
• Improve taste & aroma
• Increase essential oil production
• Enhance medicinal /anti-oxidative properties
• Boost pest resistance
Most standard HPS lights don’t emit much UV-A & UV-B. To really get the benefits of a wider spectrum, use a GAVITA supplemental LEP (Plasma) grow light.

400V on a 230V supply!
You can power your 400V GAVITA lamp from a normal household mains supply. Just make sure you use the right ballast.
GAVITA Pro ballasts have a 230V input circuit, but will output 400V (unless you dim it).
This is because it’s a digital ballast – digital ballasts always output the maximum voltage, no matter what the supply is (unless you dim it).
If you try to power a 400V lamp with a magnetic ballast, it won’t work. Magnetic ballasts can only output the voltage that comes in.
GAVITA's Testing Process
You might notice a slight scorch mark on your light (they disappear after 10 minutes of use).
That’s because each lighting system is activated before being shipped to make sure it works as it should.
But just in case, GAVITA products come with a 3 year warranty.

- Q & A
Questions and Answers (1)How far should these be kept from the top of the canopy? Further than a standard 600w light I take it? ThanksIt is best to have the Gavita placed fairly high in your tent, & let your plants grow into the intensity. You should aim for the plants to finish with about a 70cm space between the top of the canopy & the light.
