KlimaVator

The Klimavator is a great bit of custom designed GroWell kit. Combining a fan speed controller and thermostat, it's like having a dimmer switch for your fans with a built in temperature override. This is especially useful in the winter months as you can set your fans to 'turn over' at lower idling speeds, limiting the amount of cold air coming into your grow room. Your plants are always able to get a healthy supply of fresh air, with the adjustable thermostat ensuring that if things get too hot then your fans will 'kick in' at full speed and reduce grow room temperatures. The Klimavator can run both intake and exhaust fans but is not recommended for use with Acoustic Fans.

Fan Speed Controllers
Seasonal temperature fluctuations mean that you won't always need your extractor fans to run at full speed. This is where a fan speed controller comes into its own allowing you to precisely adjust your fan speeds (and therefore extraction rates) to perfectly balance intake and extraction rates to maintain the perfect temperature. There are a number of ways of adjusting the speed of a fan, and the cheapest and most prevalent method is with a resistive type controller. these controllers in crease resistance and slow the fans that way. This can cause additional noise to be created by some fan models. The other way is a voltage controller which uses a variac to alter the actual power supplied to the fan. These controllers are much more heavy duty and do not create any additional fan noise, but they are significantly more expensive.
