While resistor-based controllers can cause fans to produce additional noise as they change speeds, these models use a variac to regulate voltage and subsequent airflow without generating noticeable side effects. Both Voltage Controllers are flexible featuring a five-speed setting that alters output by 20% intervals and come in cheaper than the Airforce models that they replace! Impressively, the 6 amp controller is also the only one we could find that even works with the largest acoustic fans!

Pricey but worth it! Written by Anon 18/01/2012 UK	If you want manual fan speed control AND quietness then this is the kit you need. Obviously it won't eliminate air noise (ie, when the fan's running at high speed), but it significantly reduces noise from the fan motor compared to a resistor - type controller, so at low speeds an RVK 100 is virtually silent. What size fans will the 1.5 amp controller work with?

The 1.5 amp fan speed voltage controller will work with all but the largest RVK fan, the 250mm Futuretech fan, & the 160mm, 200mm & 250mm acoustic box fans.
