do you put a carbon filter linked to 1 end and a fan to the other end

If you are using one coolshade reflector, you can run it with your carbon filter. You would attach your carbon filter to the intake side of your fan, then connect the fan to the coolshade, so it blow air through the shade. If you are looking to use multiple coolshades, we would advise that you have a dedicated fan for the coolshades, with your carbon filter operating from another fan.
